A Festive Fall Bucket List For a Great Season

by jessicalynnschinkovec

It’s almost that time of year already. Honestly, I feel like fall and summer are melting together right now and a little of both seasons are shining through. Because of that, I am already preparing for the fall. I ordered my candles and started pulling out my decor, so without further adu here’s the festive fall bucket list too.

Spooky Halloween Activities For Fall.

Explore an abandoned building – Abandoned buildings are one of my favorite things to explore, but I always wait until fall to start doing it. There’s just something about wandering through an abandoned building that seems so much spookier when it’s this time of year. So, go get some friends, and your camera and explore something creepy!

Visit a Haunted House – Haunted houses are always a go-to. The best way to get into the spooky season is to get spooked! Haunted houses are my favorite thing of this time of year, whether they’re the fun haunted houses or the creepy real abandoned ones. Either way, I am in. Speaking off…

Attend or Host a Halloween Party – Whether it’s a costume party or just a themed Halloween party, you can’t go wrong. Some bars have their own Halloween parties, where they do costume contests and everything!

Watch spooky movies – Who doesn’t do their fall decorating by watching some classic spooky movies? Halloweentown anyone? I’ve also really been enjoying rewatching Locke and Key these days I think it will become a yearly classic for me.

Haunted Tour – Haunted tours are something I have always read about. Many cities do haunted tours around the city and I think that would be so cool. This year I am determined to try at least one haunted tour somewhere.

Festive Outdoor Fall Activities.

Host a Bon Fire – Fires are great almost all year round honestly. You can never go wrong with a good bonfire and some great company.

Attend a Fall Festival – Fall festivals are something I personally didn’t really get into until I got a little older, but now I am a huge fan. Some fall festivals are so much fun.

Go, Pumpkin Picking – Picking pumpkins is probably the most popular activity of fall. Why wouldn’t it be, you get to gather the family or some friends and go out into pumpkin fields and pick the best pumpkins you can find. Some places cater to families with activities such as hayrides and games. Some places also cater to friends and adults by offering B.Y.O.B. options and music. You can find a place specifically best for you, and that is super exciting.

Go Apple Picking – Apple flavored food and beverages are another big staple and the idea of picking your own apples to do it is pretty awesome. I personally have never done it, thus why it’s on the list. Even if you only make apple sauce or an apple pie I think it would be an awesome thing to try.

Enjoy a Hike in the Fall Foliage – Fall foliage is absolutely stunning. Watching all the leaves change colors and taking a nice long walk through that can be relaxing and beautiful. It is always great to take some time in nature and watch the seasons change around you.

Do a Corn Maze – Corn mazes are so fun if you can find a really good one. Some places have huge haunted corn mazes which is really neat!

Fun Fall Bucket List Activities to do Alone.

Have Fun With Fall Outfits – Search through Pinterest and find some really cute fall outfits that you want to try and do it. Maybe find a staple flannel you can pair with some shorts for the warmer days or a nice fall scarf and boots for that colder weather. Fall is the time where I like to bring out my leather jacket, I always feel like it looks great this time of year.

Fall Makeup – This is more of a for-fun thing for me more than anything else. But if you are someone that likes to play with makeup what better way than to try out the fun colors of the season. Maybe even try out some Halloween looks. I love playing with fall makeup looks. Although I never end up actually wearing them out and about, sometimes it gives me ideas on how to change up my more simple day-to-day looks.

Create a Festive Fall Routine – Whether its a fall nightimte routine or a fall pamper routine, or even just changing up your daily routine for the fall time, try it out.

Pick Out Some Yummy Fall Candles – Fall candles yummm. Fall scents are some of the best scents of the year in my opinion. The spicy pumpkin and mulled ciders scents are my personal favorites. Candles can really change the feel of your home honestly and what better way to get into the fall spirit than some good smells. Yankee Candle has been having some really good sales recently (FYI).

Festive Fall Bucket List Food and Drink Activities.

Bake Pumpkin Foods – I personally have never baked anything pumpkin, but this year I am determined to try out my hand on some cool old-fashioned pumpkin roll, or some pumpkin squares. Baking fall-style foods just sounds so festive to me. Why not try it out!

Come up with a fun Fall dinner – Yummy just looking at Pinterest under fall foods just makes my taste buds go crazy. It is always fun to theme a few dinners or meals in general to the time of year.

Host a Friendsgiving – So many people do it, you have your typical family thanksgiving and you can have a Friendsgiving. Friendsgiving sounds so fun to me, have everyone bring a fall beverage and a dish and go crazy. You get to spend time with your friends and create a holiday of your own. The best part about it is if you don’t have any family around, a good friendsgiving can really make you feel like you do.

Do a Winery, Brewery, or Distillery Tour – These tours are great for the fall season. Especially if you go to one in a more rural area where everything is outside. There is something about being at a winery drinking wine, outside while wondering about outside in the beautiful fall foliage. Some of my favorite places to go are along the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour.

Make a Fun Fall Drink – Enjoying the fall beverages really puts you in the mood for the season. There are so many people in the world that get excited the moment that Starbucks releases their pumpkin spice latte. We all love seasonal specialties. I personally really enjoy going out to a bar or restaurant and being able to pick a seasonal special of their menu. So go get yourself a pumpkin spice latte, or make yourself an exciting fall cocktail

Crafty Fall Bucket List Activities to Do with Friends or Alone.

Decorate – Ahhh decorating. The most rewarding thing you can do for the season. You don’t even have to go all out. Just as simple sometimes as changing the centerpiece on your table and adding a good fall candle can really change the game. I personally love going all out in decor, pumpkins everywhere!!!

Create Some Fall DIYs – Maybe create a personalized fall sign or a fall-themed wreath for your front door. Centerpieces are always my favorite thing to create for each season, but I am determined to DIY a spooky sign for the holidays.

Take Some Fun Fall Photos – Take a day to try to capture as many photos as you can this season. I have said it before and I will say it again, the colors of fall are just so pretty.

Carve Pumpkins – Naturally, you go out and buy or pick pumpkins for decor, but better yet that you can use them for a fun activity such as carving. I plan on getting some friends together and hosting a pumpkin carving night with the girls, and some hot apple cider, maybe a spooky movie too.

Travel Fall Bucket List Items

Disney Halloween Parties – I absolutely love Disney Halloween Parties. They are always so cute and fun. No, they aren’t scary, or wild, or anything like that. You do get to trick or treat and see some really awesome shows and fireworks though.

Universal Halloween Horror Nights – This event is by far the best Halloween event I have ever been to. With multiple mini haunted houses and effects that make it seem realistic, it really is a fun experience. I try to go every year I possibly can.
