In the summertime, everyone has their few things they just can’t live without. Some people get their lashes done every summer, some people buy a new swimsuit every summer. This is my list of summer essentials and why they are some of my summer favorites. I don’t think I do much outside in the summer without these things.
1. Waterproof Speaker
This specific speaker is the Ultimate Ears Wonder Boom, that I bought from amazon. You can also purchase it at the UE website as well, where you find a better selection, I just like my amazon shipping. I love this little speaker I bring it with me everywhere. My favorite times to use it is during water activities like the boat, the pool, kayaking, and the beach. It kicks a pretty good sound for such a small size and the fact that I don’t have to worry about it getting wet is literally my favorite feature. Another cool feature about this speaker is that if you have multiple of them you can Bluetooth them together for more sound, so clearly I had to have two. This is probably my favorite summer essentials.
2. Waterproof Phone Case
My favorite waterproof phone case so far is the Life Proof case, I have had one for each of my iPhones and have loved it so much I have never ventured anywhere else. I don’t use the waterproof case all the time, but I do bring it with me everywhere I go. Typically, I just save it for those days I will be around water, only because I have a few cute cases I switch my phone in and out of. I love that with a waterproof case I can still take photos without worrying about harming my phone. Also, another great thing about Life Proof cases is that they are under warranty. That way if you break the seal or anything all you have to do is shoot them an email and they will send you a new one all you have to do is pay to ship.
3. A Good Summer Bag or Backpack
I bought this cute backpack for vacation. Mostly, so I wouldn’t have to carry a bag of sand around, but I fell in love. I love that I can see everything in it. Also, I love that it dries quickly, which is awesome. I can throw my wallet and anything I want to keep dry in a little dry bag and throw my wet swimsuit, my swim shoes and my wet towel all in the bag and I don’t have to worry about ruining my bag. Another great amazon purchase and I am constantly getting compliments on it.
4. Sun Lotion
You really can’t get through summer without sun lotion, so it is always important to find a good one that you love. Recently I started buying sun lotions for their scents. So I have a few great blocks that I love and a few amazing smelling tanning oils as well, but as far as that stuff goes I really don’t have a specific favorite or recommendation.
5. A Good Tumbler
Having a good tumbler that holds ice for a long time is always a good investment for summer. I have a few that I love. I personally have a bit of a cup problem, but these are by far my favorite so far. All completely different price points, both work great! From left to right we have the giant Stanley cup, from Walmart which is great to have a big jug of water, or if you mix up mags to share with others. Next is the hydroflask, definitely my most expensive. The third is a Simply Southern tumbler that I bought more for the colors than anything else and fell in love. The Yeti cup with handle is probably my most used mostly for the convenience. And last is the Ozark Trail one also very cheap from Walmart. I personally think they all work about the same honestly.
6. Deodorant Wipes
I actually came across these little things at Gabes of all places and I fell in love. They are always coming in handy. I keep a few in my purse, a few in my car, and a few in my mesh backpack. You never know when you’re going to get a little sweaty on a long day and just want to freshen up. I really love them when we are boating on the river and want to go to dinner after a day on the boat, its nice to be able to freshen up just a bit before dinner.
7. Water Shoes
Two great shoes that I utilize at different times throughout the summer are my crocs and a slip-on water shoe. When Kayaking it’s nice to have a pair that slip on, just in case you need to get out of the kayak, and don’t want to take any nice shoes with you. I really enjoy my crocs for the boat or the pool and the slip-on ones for wearing in the water.
8. A fresh summer scent
Summer scents are always on the list of essentials during summer for me. A good body spray or perfume is always super nice and sexy during summer. Currently I am loving a few different scents. I am still on the hunt for a good grapefruit perfume but I will let you know if and when I find one of those. For now, I am loving Replica Sailing Day and Beach Walk by Maison Margiela.
9. Your Perfect Cooler
As far as coolers go I have a few I love, and they are all smaller more personal-sized coolers. You need to find the perfect one for you, everyone has a different preference. Some people want a huge cooler that could be used for a weekend trip. Me personally I just like something to use for the day. I don’t do many weekend trips but I do like having a small cooler to take with me for the day. I would prefer to be able to throw a six-pack a few water bottles and maybe some fruit in there and call it a day. There are two coolers I am loving right now. But I really think a decent cooler for the summertime is an absolute necessity. My main cooler is the yeti roadie. The other cooler I love is a shoulder bag cooler.
10. A Good Sandal
Naturally, when summer rolls around I feel like everyone goes out and purchases at least one pair of new sandals that you love! I personally have been loving two pairs, one of which is my black Birkenstocks and the other is a very similar knockoff pair from target.
Well, those are my favorite summer essentials! Clearly, you can tell that I am quite a water bug especially since most of my favorite summer things revolve around water and water activities, but I mean if you love summer you probably love the water too.
