5 Tasty, Boozy Bevy’s To Try This Fall Season

by jessicalynnschinkovec

One of the most exciting things you can do in the fall is creating fun fall drinks for all of your activities. Unfortunately, none of my boozy bevy’s are very BOOzy just the alcoholic kind. Next time I am doing some sensational spooky sips for sure! Anyway, I get way too excited to drink, can’t you tell. For instance, I am going to a haunted house with a bunch of friends tonight, we are taking a bus so everyone can drink and I am making apple cider margaritas and the caramel apple cider spritzers in little Capri sun bags I got off amazon for everyone. I am so excited. Anyway, if you’re going to throw a fall fire, or fall party wouldn’t you want to have a festive drink to go with it? I would. Here are a few, alcoholic of course, but I did throw in a nonalcoholic one for those of you that maybe not be trying to get too wild.

1. The ever-growing iconic Apple Cider Margarita:

This year I am starting to see people drinking these all over the place and I love it. Last fall I discovered the apple cider marg myself and I fell in love with it. If you don’t already know margaritas are probably one of my favorite drinks, next to Moscow mules. If there is a way to make some tasty seasonal margaritas you bet your ass I am going to do it.

How do you make it, you ask? Well, it’s super simple.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Tequila (or more if you want a strong one) – Pick out your favorite tequila. I personally enjoy a silver, blue agave tequila. 1800 is one of my favorite choices. You’re going to need at least 1 shot, 2 if you’re like me and want a little more in your drink.
  • Apple Cider – A good apple cider. I have found my favorite apple cider to use for these comes from local farms, but any apple cider you enjoy can work. Try not to skimp too much on your ingredients though if you want it to taste the best.
  • Lime Juice – Fresh squeezed or the bottle of sweetened lime juice from the store is perfectly fine for this part, you just want to get that yummy lime like taste that makes a margarita a margarita. Just a splash that’s all you need. You can also add more if you like that lime flavor the best. I find if you use the squeeze of a lime you wont need too much, but the sweetened lime juice never seems to have enough flavor, so you may need more.
  • 1.5 oz Triple Sec – Depending on how sweet your apple cider is you might not need any triple sec in your margarita, but sometimes it adds just the right amount of extra flavor. Use a shot if you feel like you may need a little extra sweetness, or to cut the bite a little bit.
  • Sugar / Cinnamon – I typically add a little cinnamon or cinnamon stick to my marg, and also rim the glass with cinnamon sugar. This step isn’t absolutely necessary, but it does taste delicious. It is a great addition.

That’s it, guys. Simple. Shake it up and enjoy.

2. Caramel Apple Cider Spritzer:

I just recently tried this the other day and let me tell you it is delicious. If you are a caramel apple fan then you will love this drink. In my personal opinion during fall we should all be trying out different fall season beverages. I actually wish more restaurants and bars would implement a few seasonal drinks for people to enjoy during each season! Anyway, I decided to try this out the other day when I found something similar on Pinterest HERE and realized I had all the ingredients. Pleasantly surprised by the taste, it has now become one of my favorites.

Here are your ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Caramel Vodka – I used Smirnoff, only because I had some left over from a fall birthday party I threw. Most vodkas other than Deep Eddy’s and Titos upset my stomach. Next time I will probably learn how to mix some caramel into my Titos and make my own, but if you like Smirnoff then you will probably really enjoy the flavor it gives.
  • 3 oz Apple Cider – Look at that, reusing some ingredients we already have from other drinks we’ve talked about! Just in case your skipping to this specific drink we will go over it again. Pick out a good apple cider, not a cheap overly sugary one, trust me. My personal favorites come from local farms, or fall festivals. You don’t need too much apple cider, but again this is at your discretion. If you really love that overly apple cider flavor than add in a little extra to taste.
  • Champagne – I am pretty sure any champagne will work. I know nothing about champagne, again mine was left over from new years last year lol (unopened of course). Basically, just fill the rest of your glass with a tasty champagne of your choice and there you have it!
  • Caramel – Your just going to use this to rim your glass, and your all set! (I actually used butterscotch because I didn’t have caramel. It was so yummy. Who knows maybe it was better? ) If you want your drink you be sweeter you could drizzle the caramel in the glass too!

Now, you just enjoy!

3. Fall Long Island Iced Tea:

I don’t know about you but I personally hate long island iced tea. I remember ordering it when I was younger (like college) because it was always a cheap drink that would give you a good buzz. It has been a few years since I have had one due to the fact that I don’t like them at all anymore. So of course why wouldn’t you try a version of a drink you don’t even like? Well, I just couldn’t help it. I found this recipe on the Kitchen Fun blog and had to give it a try. Naturally, my version isn’t the exact same, I always have to doctor it up just a bit for my liking. But, trust me. This is so yummy. It’s like the adult fall version of a long island that we have all always wanted, ya know, one that’s actually good!

Ingredients:

  • Triple Sec – triple sec is basically an orange flavored sweetener as I mentioned before. So if your drink is pretty sweet already or a little too sweet for you then I advise leaving it out. But for the most part it usually adds the perfect flavor for aa long island.
  • 1 oz Spiced Rum – Captain Morgan is always my choice for spiced rum. It is always my go to, but you can use whatever spiced rum you enjoy.
  • 1 oz Apple Vodkaor- Titos Vodka and Apple Pucker – Something I didn’t have, so I just used Titos, and added a splash of apple pucker. I figured it has to be pretty similar, and it turned out pretty good, so I will defiantly do it again.
  • Cranberry Apple juice – Cranberry Apple juice is one of my favorite juices, and it is perfect for this recipe.
  • 1 oz Recipe calls for gin / I used tequila instead – typically a true long island has all 5 liquors (vodka, rum, tequila, gin, and triple sec). Some people leave out the gin or tequila depending on the flavor they are looking for. I personally didn’t have gin, which is why I used tequila, which I like better anyway and I am glad I did it.
  • Sprite – And finally just throw in a splash of sprite and call it done.

Surprisingly this one is one of my favs.

4. Spiced Apple Cider Sangria:

I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this one turned out! Don’t get me wrong I love sangria, but this one called for white wine. And, I am not totally a fan of most white wines. I just had to change up this recipe to make it more of what I like as per usual. It was so exciting to find out how delicious it actually turned out. I actually made a pitcher of this for a party I had and everyone loved it so much! This is a great drink to make for a party, especially since the fruit will soak up in the wine and give off more flavor over time. People also always like to eat the fruit after soaking up all the alcohol which is also fun.

Ingredients:

  • Sweet Red Wine – Because it is one of the few wines I actually like. For an added bonus, a dark red wine also looks so much more fall like, with the dark red of the wine and the bright colors of the fruit your going to add to it. This is going to be one of the last things you add, you’ll just top the rest of your drink off with the wine!
  • 3 oz Apple Cider – You just want to add that apple cider for that delicious fall flavor, so you can add as much as you like depending on how you want your drink to taste.
  • 1.5 oz Spiced Rum – Again, captain is my favorite in the spiced rum department!
  • Fruits – I like to use apple and oranges for this because I love the colors and flavors it adds to the drink.

5. Orange Cinnamon Moscow Mule:

Moscow Mules are another one of my favorite drinks. I don’t know why but they always make me feel way less crappy the next day than anything else. Plus I also feel like they can be more healthy than most drinks. That’s probably something I just make up in my head. I have tried a few seasonal Moscow mules and I really haven’t found any I love. I tried a pumpkin Moscow mule and hate it. This orange cinnamon Moscow mule is my favorite one so far! And the ingredients are pretty simple.

Ingredients:

  • 2oz vodka – It’s always Titos for me. Anytime I need plain vodka I am going to go with Titos. You can use any vodka you like personally. Titos is just the best for my body to say the least.
  • 2oz orange juice – Fresh squeezed is what the recipe calls for, but I didn’t feel like wasting a whole orange to squeeze into my drink. So orange juice it is. Pulp free is a preference, I used simply orange juice
  • 4oz ginger beer – there are so many good ginger beers out there, I usually use Regatta its one of my favorites, and I order it online and have it shipped to my house so its very convenient.
  • ½ oz cinnamon maple syrup (water, cinnamon sticks, sugar)

A great stay at home night with friends, make some fun drinks to try, put on a spooky movie and enjoy the evening. There are so many really interesting fall beverages out there, but these are the ones I thoroughly enjoyed. These are also some of the less extensive recipes that didn’t take as many wild ingredients, so if you’re looking for something more, there are so many other options you can find on Pinterest! Go find them! Try them and let me know!

That’s all for now folks! Enjoy the last little bit of fall while we still have some! Don’t forget to enjoy the last few days of those beautiful colored leaves also! If you want to check out some more fun drinks check out my winter drinks post!!

P.S. Halloween is this weekend, so… HAPPY HALLOWEEN WITCHES AND GOULS!!
